The voice of me
my voice
silent
A glittering smile
reflects the sun
Every step, breath.
Every thought, Every wish.
All thoughts count
old memories, new memories
our future does matter.
The voice of her
her voice soft
I love you
This poem is a reflection a man who meets a girl that he falls in love with. He is scared and freezes and does not know how to react to her, all he can do is look, and admire her beauty. He knows that he has had some bad experiences in the past, but now he knows that there is something amazing coming to him. She says in response to his admiration with the words "I love you". Showing the past, future and the present.

Response to WAVE
I feel that the poem Regarding Wave it has a very real Buddhist mind-set. I feel that the first stanza where Synder talks about the voice of the Dharma, he says the word "now". That is a very good mind-set taught by the Zen Masters. The mind-set is to live in the moment and not to think of the past or the future but only what is right in front of you right now. If you take the time to look at the poem itself the poem forms a wave. Not a usual up and down wave, but a wave with huge lumps, meaning I feel that Snyder has his eyes fully open in the words of a Zen Master. He is very aware of what is going on right now and not worrying about anything besides his life and everything else around him.
For my quote I chose a quote written by Edgar Allan Poe and it states;
"The boundaries which divide life from death
are at best shadowy and vague.
Who shall say where one ends,
and the other begins?"
I like this quote because it helps me understand that life is life and there is no other way to experience it. I can see life in many different ways, but in the end it all ends up being the same and exact thing no matter what I do and where I go with it life will end up the same.

Reaction to Above Pate Valley....And one of my poems
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvkiz_ut0UcAfter reading, the poem Above Pate Valley, over and over again. The poem finally made a lot of sense to me. At first I did not understand what he was doing, and why he was doing what he was doing, but now that I do I understand and see Snyder in a more down-to-earth type of guy. In the poem of Above Pate Valley Snyder displays a hypocritical side to him by explaining what he does during his day, and his actual job profession. Looking through nature trying to find obsidian arrowheads, but his actual job is destroying the nature he looks through. I found that to be a very interesting poem because of the balance that he has from things he wants to do with his day, and things he has to do with his day.
I wrote a poem trying to show my vision of myself and how I feel about nature "The World reflects me, My eyes cannot stop looking, I can't see myself"...... that was a poem I wrote inspired when I read Snyder's poem. It inspired me because I wanted to show people how I felt about myself and nature and how I relate to it like Snyder did.
Two days of my life, I have a lifestyle that seems to be very routine.
I wake up in the morning and brush my teeth and wash my face, and then my day begins.
I start my day looking and wondering how my day can be different from the day before.
Although my daily life is routine, I can always make it different, but why do I have to purposely change it why can it not change itself.

nmarcelo: On Gary SNyder
My thoughts so far on this man Gary Snyder were very sketchy at first. After learning more about him, I have grown to have a lot in common with him. The first that I noticed that we both had in common was our love for the Buddhist faith. I was very impressed when I learned that he actually tried to become and studied the Buddhist lifestyle. He has been through a lot of huge events throughout his life, and I wish to someday live mine like him. He has had three wives, not because he was a Pimp, but because he just could not find a woman who could live like him.
